Before you order
How do I pick the right panel?
Take the 3-minute symptom quiz and we’ll suggest lab markers linked to how you feel, or skip it and build your panel directly. Every marker explains what it measures.
Do I need insurance?
No. EllaDx is self-pay: you pay per lab marker. Insurance is not accepted or required.
Do I need a referral or a doctor's order?
No. You do not need a referral or a visit with your own doctor.
Who can order?
Any adult aged 18 or older in a supported U.S. state. EllaDx is designed for women, but panels are available to anyone who needs them.
Is EllaDx available in my state?
Not in every state. EllaDx isn’t available in New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Hawaii, North Dakota, South Dakota or West Virginia yet. Everywhere else you can order online, and we confirm your state before you pay.
Can I test if I’m pregnant, breastfeeding or under 18?
Not right now. Our panels use standard adult reference ranges, which don’t apply during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and you need to be 18 or older to order. Your OB, midwife or doctor can order the right tests for you.
The money part
What does EllaDx cost?
You pay per test, and most tests show their price on our All tests page. There’s no minimum, baseline labs are always included free, and you’ll see your total before you pay.
See test pricesIs there a subscription or auto-renewal?
No. You pay for one panel at a time. Nothing renews on its own. If you want to test every few months, place a new order each time.
Can I use my HSA or FSA card?
Yes. Under IRS rules, lab tests are generally eligible for HSA and FSA funds. Use your HSA or FSA card at checkout like any other payment card.
Can I add more markers later?
Yes. Build another panel whenever you like. There’s no minimum, and baseline labs are included free with every panel.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. Your panel price covers the lab order, a standard blood draw at Quest, lab processing, and your EllaDx results portal. There are no activation, portal, or recurring fees.
Your draw
Where do I get my blood drawn?
After we confirm state availability, visit a Quest Diagnostics location. Most take walk-ins, and the draw takes about 15 minutes.
Find a Quest location near youWhat is a venous blood draw?
A venous draw is the usual blood draw from a vein in your arm. A certified blood-draw specialist does it, and it gives the lab enough blood for reliable results.
Do I need to fast before my draw?
Some tests need 8 to 12 hours with no food. Water is fine. Our marker library tags many tests that need fasting or timing, but a test with no tag can still need preparation. Contact us before your draw if you’re not sure.
How soon can I get tested after ordering?
Often the same day. Once your order is confirmed, your lab order arrives by email and in your portal, and you can visit a Quest Diagnostics location.
Do I need an appointment for my draw?
No. Most Quest Diagnostics locations take walk-ins. Bring your lab order and a photo ID, or book a time with Quest if you prefer.
Your results
How long do results take?
Most results are ready within 5 days, and many arrive in 3 to 4 days. Some advanced tests can take up to 21 days. Your results appear in your portal together, once every test in your order is back, and we email you when they’re ready.
What does my report include?
Every lab marker includes the reporting lab's reference range and a plain-language note. If you test again, charts show how your results change over time.
How should I read the ranges on my report?
Your report uses the reporting lab's standard ranges. EllaDx also explains what each marker does, why it is in your panel, and what you may want to ask your clinician about.
What does 'borderline' mean on my results?
EllaDx doesn't label results 'borderline'. Each value is shown against the reporting lab's reference range. A value close to either end of that range can still be worth discussing with your clinician.
Can I share my results with my doctor?
Yes. You can download the lab's PDF report, with your values and reference ranges, from your patient portal and share it with your physician, OB-GYN, functional medicine provider, or any other clinician.
How does trend tracking work?
When you repeat a panel, the portal puts your old and new results on one chart. You can see how each lab marker changes over time.
Privacy & safety
Is my health information private?
Yes. EllaDx is HIPAA-compliant. Your health data is encrypted at rest and in transit, never sold to third parties, and never shared with insurers. You control who sees your results, and you can close your account at any time. We keep your lab records for as long as the law requires.
Is EllaDx a medical device or a diagnostic tool?
EllaDx is a lab testing service, not a medical device. We provide lab data and research notes. Your clinician should interpret your results and help you make care decisions.
Can EllaDx diagnose a condition?
No. A licensed clinician who knows your full health history must make a diagnosis. Use your EllaDx results to guide a conversation with your healthcare provider, not to replace one.
What should I do if a result comes back flagged?
Download your results PDF and share it with your doctor or a specialist. If a result is critical, a licensed clinician reviews it and reaches out to you so you can get medical care quickly.
